Mission Statement
Our mission is to responsibly oversee the financial process for the Church of St. Catharine, focusing on the guidelines of our Catholic tradition and acting with integrity, truthfulness and confidentiality.
Membership
St. Catharine’s Finance Committee is comprised of five parishioners who have a background in accounting, finance, and/or business ownership. Members are selected by the pastor and serve for three years. They are an advisory body for matters pertaining to financial administration.
Purpose
The Finance Committee is part of a system of checks and balances required by the Diocese of Trenton. They meet six times a year with the pastor, business manager, parish trustees and accountant. They are responsible for:
- Budget oversight
- Ensuring business practices are efficient, economical, legal and ethical
- Communicating an annual financial summary of expenditures and revenues to the parish community
