One of the unseen aspects of the Parish life is maintaining the buildings that are part of our beautiful campus here at St. Catharine. On inspection, it was realized that it was time to replace all the roofs: Church, chapel, Offices, Fr. Scheg Center, Parish Hall and the Education wing for a total area of 52,171 square feet.
The Parish Hall roof and other flat roofs were in serious need of renovation. Not only were they leaking in rainy weather, but after careful inspections the plywood underneath had to be completely replaced. An astounding 490 plywood sheets were used during the renovation.
This roof renovation would not have been possible without the faithful stewardship of the parishioners of St. Catharine. St. Catharine responsibly used funds from the Faith to Move Mountains rebate to fund this important and necessary project. This special fund was put into place by our diocese to ensure the faith handed on to us is to endure and grow. The new roof is expected to last 20-25 years! God bless you for your generosity and support.
