St. Catharine is on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ in our parish community. Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.
What is a Pastoral Plan?
Pastoral Planning is an ongoing process that helps the parish focus on the Mission of Jesus Christ for which we are co-responsible. In order to plan wisely, we must recognize the changing environment and be honest about the challenges before us. As a parish, Church of St. Catharine must diligently seek out the opportunities that exist to proclaim the Gospel in our time. Together, we embrace the Church's vision of a community of disciples, fully alive in Christ and witnessing His saving love by their words and by the witness of their lives.
Through prayer and listening, study and dialogue, we discern the steps that are necessary at this time to move toward this vision and allocate resources accordingly, formulating a Pastoral Plan. The parish pastoral plan sets the optimal scenario for the Holy Spirit to act among us.
What is the Disciple Make Index Survey (DMI) ?
The very first step in the Pastoral Planning process involves assessing our greatest strengths and opportunities, and that is where the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) survey comes in! The DMI is an important survey tool that invites you to reflect on your discipleship journey here at St. Catharine. The Disciple Maker Index is designed to:
· Invite parishioners to reflect on their faith journey.
· Enable parish leadership to make data-driven decisions.
· Help parishioners grow in their faith.
The 10–15-minute survey can be accessed through an online link from March 5 – April 20 and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide your perspective on our parish’s efforts to help you grow in relationship with Christ. All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community as a whole. Click here to participate in the survey.
Survey results will be evaluated and will inspire the Pastoral Plan. Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.
Please continue to pray for this intention and for the growth and protection of our parish.
